Dan, We have run with STATICDB and FASTLOCK on for years and can only confirm this one 'Compiled apps freeze at random. You can have a compiled app open and switch to another program then come back and it is non-responsive. You have to end task.'
It is so random that it happens I have never tried to track it down and have never associated your observations with those settings.
