Dan, Jan, Complied app, staticdb on (fastlock default setting), R:Base Extreme Extended.
Similar to Jan’s response, we have the same challenge in reminding users to alt-tab through to form desired with multiple programs open (outlook, fedex, ups, word, excel, online portals, etc…). Still an occasional “Cannot start application” for users, requiring reboot of computer to reinitiate connection to server resources, LAN… Brad Davidson CIO, Director Aero-Craft Hydraulics, Inc. Let me explain our scenario. We have a main menu that calls other things as I'm sure we all use. However in many cases, the called form is smaller than the menu form. So the client is in the smaller form and goes to check email. Tries to come back to the app and all they see is the main menu. The smaller form is hidden behind the main menu and they have to use <alt><tab> to get back to the form they left. I believe there is a way to overcome this but I think it would be handy to know how to force the O/S back to the compiled with a PROPERTY command or something like that. Gunna turn it back off this weekend to see if they go away. My users are crying mostly about the freeze issue. You can have a compiled app open and switch to another program then come back and it is non-responsive. You have to end task.' It is so random that it happens I have never tried to track it down and have never associated your observations with those settings. Interesting. -----Original Message----- From: Dan Goldberg <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>> To: "[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>" <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>> Date: Fri, 10 Feb 2017 16:48:42 +0000 Subject: [RBASE-L] - my first go around with staticdb on A couple of weeks ago I turned on staticdb and fastlock to see how it worked for us for the first time. We have ran into some issues after turning it on. Compiled apps freeze at random. You can have a compiled app open and switch to another program then come back and it is non-responsive. You have to end task. Fedex software cannot find orders after a period of time over ottero odbc. Some reports will be missing data at random. If they close the compiled app and reopen it, it works fine. Just thought I would report on it. See if anybody had experiences, thoughts… Dan Goldberg -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBASE-L" group.
