Question: Has anyone integrated a card reader into their R:Base app? Yes, since R:Base has the ability to print bar codes we even incorporated the printing of company identification cards from the employee table with a bar code on it and the employee id (the card also shows other stuff). Then purchase a bar code reader, under $30, to read the bar codes into you R:Base app. USB connected. If you have a form, we use a scrolling region, to record the data. The person can either type their ID number or use the bar code reader. The data goes into a dbedit field.

For example an employee using a card reader to swipe on and out like a time clock app. If so, what hardware did you use and anything else you can suggest? Mainly concerned with getting the needed info from the card (employee ID, name) into R:Base.
