Good suggestion Paul - I had forgotten about virus scanners.
I did exclude c:\RBTI\RBGX5E, C:\TEMP and *.RX1,2,3 & 4 (they're on a
network drive) and although response is a little snappier, I'm still
pinning the needle on browses.
Thanks,
Doug

Doug,
Silly question but is your virus scanner set to ignore RBASE databases? I've been
running X.5 since the training & conference and I have not been having this
problem. Until 2 weeks ago I was running it in Windows 7 on a laptop and my new
laptop is Windows 10 and also no problems. I downloaded today's updates but haven't
gotten them loaded yet.
Sorry,
Paul Buckley

Subject: [RBASE-L] - CPU Usage 100%, RBXE5 on Win 7
Whenever I browse a table of view in RBGX5E, CPU usage goes to 100% - it sorta
brings my system to its knees :)
Happens whether I right click & Open, BRO from an R> or run a BRO command from
the Editor.
If I right-click on the open table, usage drops to a few %, once a tally is
displayed, usage goes to 100%.
SET MDI ON/OFF doesn't make any difference (I had changed that a few weeks ago).
Per Task Manager, usage is approx 50% kernel (red), 50% user (green).
This happens in X.5E, current 10.5.1.30326 and previous two updates (don't know
about prior updates); it wasn't a problem in XE or 9.5.
O/S is Win 7 Pro, SP 1; 32 bit, 8 GB RAM.
Any suggestions for the Blues Clues / Percentage Pain?
Thanks,
Doug
