Specs looks good. I would go with a higher clock speed on the cpu if possible.
Also, the rdp server cannot be ran on a domain controller so you can run rdp as a virtual server on the standalone server. SSD are the best hard drive option. Good morning, I am upgrading my current virtual window 2012 server for RBASE. I am making this a standalone windows 2019 sever. This is the critical application and runs our entire company. We have 35 users. We will be using remote desktop application to access the compiled application and data. The only other applications would be Veeam for backups and maybe Symantec? I am looking to buy a dell PowerEdge T440 CPU ( I am not sure if two CPU would help?) (2)Intel Xeon Silver 4210 2.2G, 10C/20T, 9.6GT/s, 13.75M Cache, Turbo, HT (85W) DDR4-2400 Memory (2) 32GB RDIMM, 2666MT/s, Dual Rank C5, RAID 10 for HDDs or SSDs in pairs (Matching Type/Speed/Capacity) (4) 960GB SSD SAS Mixed Use 12Gbps FIPS-140 512e 2.5in with 3.5in HYB CARR Drive, PM5-V Broadcom 57416 Dual Port 10GbE BASE-T Adapter, PCIe Full Height Dual, Hot-plug, Redundant Power Supply (1+1), 495W Redundant Fan Option Any thought on configuration? Is this enough memory? Will dual CPU’s make a difference? Raid 10 is expensive but down time is unacceptable. I have read that it is no longer best practices to keep the operating system on a separate raid disk? thoughts?
