Tip of the Day: Improved Create Alias Dialog in Query Builder
Product.......: R:BASE X.5 and R:BASE X.5 Enterprise (Version 10.5)
Build.........: 10.5.3.11119 or higher
Sections......: Query Builder
Keywords......: View, Alias, Column, Query, Definition
Did you know that Column Name list box has been expanded where computed
definitions have more space to be fully visible?
When there are computed definitions for columns, the Column Name list box
is now wide enough to see the complete value, to important information is
fully visible. The dialog box may also be dragged to increase the size for
even very large definitions.
Column aliases allow the ability to create an alias name for a column in
the view. The purpose is to make the view data easier to understand when
previewing the data.
To access the column alias settings, select "Query" > "Column Aliases"
from the main menu bar.
Once the "Create Alias" dialog appears, you can select a column from the
"Column Name:" list. With the selection, the column alias value will
appear in the field below for changes to be applied. To save the alias
name changes, select the "Modify Current Selection" button.
To remove column aliases, remove the check from the "Use Column Aliases"
check box.
Very Best R:egards,
Razzak.
