Razzak - Is it possible (probably not a good way to start an R:Base
questions :) ) to allow user-specified paths to the various R:Style
files - CAS, VAR, PRE, etc in the local R:Style configuration?
Reason: I have "standard" variables and names that I use across all my
databases, e.g. vCount, vSQLCode, cidExitButton, pQuotes, etc that I
would like to have in one RSTYLE.CAS in \RBData\.
Then I have variables and names unique to each database - vDepot,
vSCACode, PickTicket, PIKD, etc. I keep those in RSTYLE.VAR in the
database folder \RBData\ClientName1\.
I often have several versions of a client's database: \Production,
\Development, \Test.
It would be really cool to specify in each version's local RStyle config
the path to RSTYLE.VAR as \RBData\ClientName1.
That way, regardless if I'm in \RBData\ClientName1\Development\ or
\RBData\ClientName1\Test\, they are all reading the same RSTYLE.VAR file
in \RBData\ClientName1\ and the RSTYLE.CAS in \RBData\.
This would eliminate multiple versions of the same RSTYLE files and the
inherent maintenance pitfalls.
Is specifying the paths currently available or is that something for
R:DCC submission?
Thanks much,
Doug

Javier,
Here you go ...
01. While in R:BASE Editor (RBEDIT), click on R:Style Setup to
customize the way you would like R:Style to behave.
See attached two screenshots of my preferred R:Style settings.
02. Depends on your Operating System and Display Settings.
Hope it helps and/or provide you with some blue's clues ...
Very Best R:egards,

I have a couple of questions, one probably pretty easy and the second
not so much.
First question – when I write code for EEPs I like to make my
variables with set ccombinations of upper and lower case letter to
make them more readable. For example I would use “vStreetNameâ€
which is very easy to read but when I run Style to find errors it
converts it to “vstreetname†which is harder to read. I know
there is a setting somewhere that prevent case changing but I cannot
seem to find it…old age sucks..
Second question – I have forms that after using them for a whilee
square frames start to show up as shown in the picture below:
[]
I thought there were object hidden behind the panels. To verify, I
printed a list of every component in the form and one at a time
identified them to make sure all were accounted and in fact I found a
couple which I deleted and continued checking until there were no
unaccounted or hidden objects.
I have not found a particular pattern or reason why they show up but
eventually, the screen freezes and the application has to be
restarted. The frames seem to show up in the same location and
multiply. I have checked the form and there is nothing at those
location even when I have checked behind the grids, panel and tabs
and, as I indicated, all objects in the form are accounted for. I am
stumped. Suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
