Are there specific brands, and machine models that are best for printing these labels?
What label material have users been pleased with? Continental Tax Corporation used Swedot and UBI printers with custom label material we specified. Our printers had a carbon that was melted onto the label for a permanent and high quality impression. That was about 20 years ago. Much has changed. We embedded codes in the report text that was fed through a serial port to the printer. But R:Base continues to provide reliable commercial solutions. Human readable support has just been added for the "QR Code" and "Data Matrix" 2D Barcode labels. The "Print Human Readable" option displays the human readable version of the bar code (e.g. actual letters, numbers, etc.). DataMatrix, MaxiCode, PDF417, and QR Code are all available as 2D Barcode options within the Report/Label Designer, to print two- dimensional bar codes based upon a value in a table, based upon a variable value, or placed as a static value. In the RRBYW20 database sample, review the MaxiCode_Barcode and PDF417_Barcode reports, as well as the CustShippingLabel and SecureNmTag labels!
