I have only one suggestion/comment. When we were trying to get data from SQL Server, we played around a lot with the command: SET PASSTHROUGH ON / OFF Do you have those in your app? We had hoped that setting it ON just once would speed up all commands. We found that it significantly sped up most of the commands, but strangely enough seemed to make a few other commands take longer, so we were setting it ON and OFF frequently. We haven't gone live with our work, so no real-time experience other than our tests
