THAT is just a stunning trick. In my situation:
(1) Copy the Grid
(2) Paste into the Editor
(3) Change the table name
(4) Copy/paste onto form
Opened a new world for me. Thank you.

When you copy an object, the textual description of the object is what
is copied to the clipboard, so you can pigeon hole an object in notepad
or the like for reuse at a more appropriate time if required.

Thank you, Mike.
My question was rather bare-boned.
(1) The copy/paste is not an issue.
(2) Providing the original table and its renamed copy in the Form's
table list is no problem.
(3) Rather, when the renamed table is selected within the pasted Grid
control's Properties, the pasted control's structure is wiped out.
So, when everything "under the covers" is the same in both tables, how
might one get the Grid control to accept the switch?
BTW is the term "intermediate description" the clue here? New to me.

ANY SELECTED object can be copied / pasted, by either right click
context menu or Ctrl-C. You can save the intermediate description of
the object by pasting into a text file and then copying and pasting
it later.

All:
What is the procedure for copying an Enhanced DB Grid Control, with
its configuration intact, where the ONLY intended change is a rename
of the source table? All remaining particulars of the table are
unchanged.
Seems it should be pretty basic ...
