This is from one of my earlier post Dick, think its what your after I had a request to have a clickable form showing the algal bloom colours (yes we spell color colour) for a pond across the month. When the cell is clicked it calls a form showing the details of the test results for the day in that month. So using an Enhanced DBGrid I've manipulated the data into a table that displays the days, colours based on the major algal type for the ponds. See attached.
Nothing hard you might think but it's easy to capture the current cell value but what if you want to capture not only the current cell value but the value in another column on that row at the same time no matter where the user clicks within the grid or how they order it. GETPROPERTY TABLE_COLUMN[algal_calendar->pondid] TEXTVALUE vpondt Even if the user reorders any of the columns or data it still gets the correct key ID value no matter where on the row the user clicks. Anyway there will be people out there that know this but just in case you didn't that was my solution.
