Bruce,

You are close on the structure.

The table is: HouseDetail

The column that is the primary key is ‘PropertyID’ (this is a text field based
on the structure of the code that is given to the Posse)

What I do not have is a unique identifier for each person in the house. My
first issue to resolve.

Thanks.

I’ll let everyone know how this ends up working.

Myron

Myron:

I'm going to assume that you have a table structure and relationship that looks
like this:

[household]<--->>[homeOwner]

The [household] table has a primary key: householdID INTEGER

The [homeowner] table has:

 homeOwnerID INTEGER (PK)

 householdID INTEGER (FK)

 fullName TEXT (40)

 ownerFlag INTEGER

The ownerFlag column identifies the owners, in whatever order you want them ...
maybe, as appears on a legal title.

So your [homeowner] table looks like this

20001 | 10001 | Myron Finegold | 1

20002 | 10001 | Susan Shapiro | 2

SELECT fullName INTO vfullname1 FROM homeOwner WHERE ownerFlag = 1

SELECT fullName INTO vfullname2 FROM homeOwner WHERE ownerFlag = 2

SET VAR vlabelName = (.vfullName1 & 'and' & .vfullName2) -- 'Myron Finegold and
Susan Shapiro'

Do hope this helps, Bruce

Subject [RBASE-L] - Put together two rows of data from one table

Goal: To creating an address label that has two separate names concatenated –
for a mailing label. For example: Myron Finegold and Susan Shapiro. (The street
information and the city and state are easy)

The data: We have a table that tracks the owners of a house. (we have about
17,000 houses and 30,000 rows of data) So, if there are two owners there will
be two rows of data identified by a unique number. Party 1 – first name and
last name and other information; Party 2 first name and last name and other
information.

I’ve never done this and I’m not sure where to start. What is the best way to
pragmatically do this?

Thanks in advance. Myron Finegold / Sheriff’s Posse of Sun City West
