Tip of the Day: Removing Extra Sheets in XLSW Workbook Exports
Product.......: R:BASE 11
Build.........: 11.0.1.40516 or higher
Section.......: File Gateway
Keywords......: Export, XLSW, Sheet, Tab
Did you know that you can automatically remove unwanted sheets from exported workbooks?
The EXTRA_SHEETS parameter for the GATEWAY EXPORT XLSW option was implemented. This parameter specifies whether blank sheets are included in the workbook.
When exporting to an Excel .xlsx file using the GATEWAY EXPORT XLSW option, extra sheet tabs (Sheet2, Sheet3) are displayed. However, we understand that additional sheets are not always desired. That's why we've introduced a new EXTRA_SHEETS parameter that you can toggle ON/OFF to have full control over the output.
GATEWAY EXPORT XLSW Customers_1203.XLS +
SELECT Company AS `Company Name`, +
CustID AS `Customer ID`, +
CustAddress AS `Company Address`, +
(CustCity+','&CustState&CustZip) AS `City, State, and Zip Code` +
FROM Customer ORDER by Company +
OPTION COL_NAMES ON +
|TAB_NAME Customer List +
|SHOW_PROGRESS ON +
|ACTION OPENVIEW +
|EXTRA_SHEETS OFF
