Tip of the Day: Title Casing for Hyphenated Strings
Product.......: R:BASE 11
Build.........: 11.0.1.40516 or higher
Section.......: Forms
Keywords......: PROPERTY, Character Case, Hyphenated Strings, Title

Did you know you can alter the Title casing behavior for hyphenated strings in the form's Edit/Memo controls?

The Title Case option does not capitalize the second value in a hyphenated string when using the Character Case property in the form's Edit/Memo controls.

An application PROPERTY was implemented to alter the behavior of Title casing, where the first letter of the second value for a hyphenated string is made in the upper case.

PROPERTY APPLICATION HYPHEN_AS_WORD_SEPARATOR ON

Keep in mind that the default value of the 'PROPERTY APPLICATION HYPHEN_AS_WORD_SEPARATOR' property is OFF. This setting determines the initial behavior of Title casing for hyphenated strings.

Applications can set the property to ON or OFF as needed.

Very Best R:egards,

Razzak.
