You could add a button ("Copy cell from X to Y" )to the form that captures the
data from the selected cell "X" in the current record and updates another cell
"Y" for the current record. One click instead of two.
You could also have the button just copy the data into the clipboard and then
it is available to paste anywhere else. I have used this to copy a record
number into the clipboard and then I jump to second screen where I have a GIS
system open and then I paste the value into the search function of the GIS to
locate the record.

Subject: [RBASE-L] - Copy from a Read-Only column
Greetings All -
I have a table-based form with an Enhanced DB Grid.
I want to Copy (Ctrl-C) from a Read-Only column in the grid and paste
(Ctrl-V) into a another column (not read-only) but it doesn't appear to copy
from the read-only column.
Does Read-Only prevent copying?
I couldn't find any relevant Properties.
Will this require an On DB Grid Cell Click EEP to get data from the read-only
column and update the other column?
Or is there another better technique that easy/intuitive for the user?
Thanks much, Happy summer.
Doug
