Thank you Javier, that's pretty much what I did.
One of the columns involved is a Yes/No checkbox for emailing invoices;
also required is a column with an email address specifically for that
purpose.
There's an existing email column whose address is often the one that
will be used for emailing invoices.
So when the checkbox is clicked Yes, an after cell click EEP runs: if
the email address is not null and the invoice email address IS null, a
dialog asks them if they want to copy the email address to the invoice
email address. If Yes, an update command does the job. If No, a Pause
message reminds them to enter an email address.

You could also have the button just copy the data into the clipboard and then
it is available to paste anywhere else. I have used this to copy a record
number into the clipboard and then I jump to second screen where I have a GIS
system open and then I paste the value into the search function of the GIS to

I have a table-based form with an Enhanced DB Grid.
I want to Copy (Ctrl-C) from a Read-Only column in the grid and paste
(Ctrl-V) into a another column (not read-only) but it doesn't appear to copy
from the read-only column.
Does Read-Only prevent copying?
I couldn't find any relevant Properties.
Will this require an On DB Grid Cell Click EEP to get data from the read-only
column and update the other column?
Or is there another better technique that easy/intuitive for the user?
