Did you know that incremental text searches can be performed within the Data Dictionary? Data Dictionary incremental searches are available by pressing the forward slash key [/]. The dialog will appear, and when typing into the entry field, matching text will automatically be located on a "per character" basis within the active tab and does not require the OK button for the search to start. For example, when connected to the RRBYW21 sample database with the Data Dictionary displayed [F3] on the "Form" tab, press the forward slash key [/] and then enter: dbtr Notice the focus moves from form to form as the search criteria are added to each letter! The incremental search method provides immediate feedback where you are even likely to stop short of typing the entire word or phrase you were looking for. You can also choose a closely related match for what was entered. Note that the incremental search feature only works when the forward slash key [/] is pressed and not when [Ctrl+N] is pressed. When [Ctrl+N] is pressed within the Data Dictionary, the search utility will locate the text of objects within the active tab. Enter text into the search text field and click the OK button to begin searching. The entry box is also a drop-down where the search history is available in the drop-down items. To clear the history, press the [Ctrl+R] key combination.
