You have me curious.. What version of XP are you using? We are using
Pro throughout so I would be interested if there is a difference between
versions. Besides, the only thing on the Misc tab I use is to disable the
screen saver -- which is just an old habit I do for any DOS app that is
running under windows. If memory serves me, I think this was one of
Sami or Bill D. suggestions several years back for any version of RBase.
This whole thing about how Windows handles shortcuts is a real pain.
I have to say I have been meaning to get down and dirty and find out more.
I know we have successfully copied over old Win95-8 shortcuts to
W2k and XP users and they work fine for 6-8 months and then one day -- BAM
they are sour... Love Mr. Bill g... noticed I used a little g... ha,ha...
I have to admit that I find it more reliable to create new shortcuts straight from the RBase exe on the network. Just make sure it's a right-click drag and
use the menu to choose create shortcut.. Have seen the exe get copied to
the desktop folder -- this created some havoc.. I have also seen where
someone must have used the move to option in this process.. Did I want to
rant and stomp over that little boo-boo... Couldn't get anyone to admit to
it though.
Anyway, the other options are what control full screen mode.
Hope this helps

On the Desktop shortcut, right-click and then left-click on the properties menu. 2. Click on the Misc tab and remover the check for Allow Screen Saver 3. Click on the Screen tab and choose Window to start up RBase at first 4. Click Apply - and OK to save settings, now Double-click shortcut to start RBase in a Window. 5. Once Rbase is up, left or right click on the C:\ Icon in the top left corner 6. Go to the Options tab and in the Display Options frame click the Full Screen option 7. You will get prompted by an Apply Properties dialog. Click the Save properties for future windows with same title option and then OK. 8. This will bring you to a full screen. Immediatly exit RBase and then right-click on the desktop Icon and choose properties. 9. Go to the Screen tab and then click Full-Screen under the Usage frame, and OK. This should have it. -- Give it a try Jim Limburg Brad Davidson wrote:mjs wrote:Has anybody ever tried to run Rbase for DOS on a Windows XPBox, and seethat Rbase comes up with a sort of squished window on topand a blackscreen for the bottom half?
