I've been doing some more tests on this and I now think that the rule does work but the view is not being updated when I expect it to be.
Can anyone confirm for me, please, that I'm right in thinking that if I amend a row in a table and leave the row that a view based on that table is updated by the time I enter the next row? What _seems_ to be happening is that if I leave the form or the data editor then the view gets updated or if I open the view in the browser and close it the correct count is shown but if I go directly to the next row the count does NOT _appear_ to be updated. It _looks_ as if R:Base isn't referring to an updated view between rows and only seeing the version that was current before any changes were made to the table. Is there some timing/update setting that might be causing this? I suspect, however, that the effect is to do with the view being based on the table that's being used. Has anybody had any similar experience? Thanks in advance, Regards, Alastair. ---------------------------------- A D B Burr, St. Albans, UK. ---------------------------------- [EMAIL PROTECTED] ----------------------------------
