Set up a Text only Printer

Go to Add Printer
Not sure about NT, but in XP Pro your asked for a port first, I choose "Print to File"
Then in the next step where you would pick a Manufacturer, look in the list for the work "Generic"
Then in the list of printers choose "Generic / Text Only"
In the remaning settings choose it as the default, Don't share, don't print a
text page

On Windows NT, we have some folks who enter work request from their process
control station PC's. In order to make this as fast as possible, I want to
take them directly to the Work Request menu with no login.
With CVAL we can pick up the Computer, Name, NetUser, UserID, etc. I was
using Computer, but that is just the station, so I guess I need to use
UserID (NT login ID?) and then match it against my list of valid users. (???)

Also, these stations have no printer, but I couldn't find how to disable it
in RBase to avoid getting a "No printer" error message.

TIA,

Dennis
