We keep getting this error when trying to connect to an R:Base data source
via Oterro from a third party party (Intel's CT-ADE ADO) application. We
used to receive this when connecting from Coldfusion as well. The work
around with coldfusion is to 'Verify' the datasource manually at system
startup which seems to 'Solve?!?!' the problem. Unfortunately Intel's tool
does not include a 'verification' option and we are left with the following
error: [Oterro ODBC Driver] -ERROR- Illegal Database name ( 9).

We just upgraded to the newest version of Oterro 2.5 in hopes of solving
this issue but it's still there. We have been fighting this issue for a very
long time and I hope someone out there has a work-around that they can
share with us.

Randy,

01.
Contact RBTI Support Services to get the latest Oterro 2.6, currently
under private beta.

02.
You may also need to trap the EXACT -Error- message in order to
solve that puzzle.

To create/generate the Oterro 2.6 log file:

01.
Update Oterro.CFG file to include the following line at the very beginning.

DEBUG ON

02.
Make sure to save the file.

03.
Now try your normal routine to connect to R:BASE 6.5++ database,
using Oterro 2.6.

04.
You should be able to see OTERRO.LOG file on your C:\ directory.

0.5
Take a look at that file for any obvious errors. If too much ... then,
send that log file to mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] for
evaluation.

06.
And, don't forget to take that DEBUG ON line from Oterro.CFG file.

Let us know.

Very Best Regards,

Razzak.
