Thanks Damon It might work in Windows version but in DOS 6.5++ it does not work and I am still mostly in DOS. Doing it in Windows version has some implications I do not like though, since the way I understand it I can not have a dynamic DSN name, where I in SQL string the databasename together pending which datadatabaase I want to open with sconnect. I will give an other trie in Windows when 7.0 soon to come are here. Allt the Best Gunnar
