> Unfortunately, seven (7) years old 6.0 for DOS installation disk using
legacy installers are NOT going to work with the latest and greatest MS
Operating Systems.
** Rick Brown's fix worked, so Old Clunky is back up and running. I had
to put a CD in both the E and F drives (the burner) before it worked. You're
right about how dated it is - the installation program is like a time
warp...
> As I have said before, contact R:BASE Technologies, Inc., at 724.733.0053
or via e-mail at mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] if your desire to stay
CURRENT and Up-to-Date with your mission critical database and business
application running R:BASE! Upgrading from R:BASE 6.0 for DOS to R:BASE
6.5++ for DOS is a breeze! Then, you can also take advantage for all
ENHANCEMENTS and BUG-FIXES.
** I'll be looking into it, but I gotta say I'm a little gun-shy. I
invested in the first and second Windows versions and found them so
unsatisfactory as to vow to invest no more. What's the concensus out there?
Is the 6.5++ Windows version user-friendly enough for the non-developer
plumber/salesman to convert his 3.1 application without countless hours of
dead ends and profanity? (because if I'm going to do it, might as well go
all the way to Windows)
Thanks again for the help, and to you in particular for keeping our old
friend alive.
