Just an idea on the subject! Doing reverse engineering for structure and or data, besides using ODBC which is the obvious choice, I frequently use the DBF format as an intermediate, not because I like DBF but it is so well readable from most software It is en extra step I know but it might work for you as well as for me Gunnar

Like you say, the "Generic ODBC driver" seems to get used in the database wizards, which then go horribly wrong. I've tried a couple of the database macros as well and they seem to connect using the R:Base driver. But the end result is still an error like: "The database wizard cannot generate new masters because the selected database table contains no records." Bizarre. I'll let you know if I find anything that works. << I don't think this is an RBase problem. I had a similar problem when I tried to reverse engineer a Pervasive database. If you come up with anything, I'd LOVE to hear it!
