Possible glitch or bug in RBASE 6.5: When using a 1024 X 768
screen resolution (my great new LCD monitor’s best resolution for me) I
ran into the following problem when using RBASE 6.5++, Build
1.866opened to a database that contains a table with 190 columns. This
is the biggest table in my database. The table contains responses from
a 190 item questionnaire that I need to keep in one table. The table
has a two-variable index key. When I sort this table it seems to
disappear. I have checked all of the RBASE settings that I know of,
such as sort on, and scratch, etc. Packing the Dbase or the indexes
doesn’t cure the problem either. Although it looks like the whole table
disappears, if you double-click on one of the cells, the information
for that cell that should be there opens up in the text editor, but
nothing else. Work around: I have found that if you change the windows desktop screen resolution to 800 X 600 or lower compared to the 1024 X 768, and then open RBASE, connect to the database with this table and then try to sort it, the table sorts and displays perfectly. Permanent fix: Is this lack of scalability fixed in RBASE 7.0? bernie karmel |
