Patti,
Remember that if you are disconnected from the database
you cannot use menus that are generated by the database.
One solution to that is to have another database that
contains your menus in a table and then use the main database that you
connect to and disconnect from each time.
Alternatively, you can create your menus from command
files but then you might have to amend the files every time there is a change in
the app that requires a new/changed/deleted item.
It's "horses for courses" but perhaps not a
straight-forward change.
