This sounds like a cool feature to be added to 7 though

To the best of my knowledge, there is no way to default the value on a
CHOOSE list or pop-up list in the Windows version like it did in the DOS
version.

The best suggestion if you are using automatic pop-ups is to have two
forms - one for entering data and one just like it for editing data - but
with NO automatic pop-ups. That way the user doesn't accidentally change
anything.

Subject: [RBASE-L] - choose default value

It's possible , in a form, using Choose or pop-up menu have a default
value for the selection? I have a form that edit existing data and when
the user , by error, press ENTER key (insted of ESC to go to the next
field) the first value of the pop-up menu is the new value for the field.
If I can define the same value that the field has as default value on
the pop-up menu, I solve those user errors.
