Marc,
I am assuming that your problem is with the 7.1 version and not the6.1 report?
If so, you need to be aware that there are settings in 7.1 that effect reports being printed to the screen and then the printer that are not in 6.1. Be sure to check CACHE, Clear Variables after print, and PASS settings in version 7.1. Also when variables are reset must be examined closely. It is my understanding that when printing on the screen, and then clicking the print ICON, the report actually is processed a second time, thus variables can be doubled etc. if the above settings are not set properly.
I had problems with getting the same results from screen prints, then printing to paper on a somewhat complicated report. A VERY knowledgeable person assisted me in resolution of the situation. He bypassed using any SUM of Variables etc. in the report and constructed a veiw with all totals etc. that were needed. The report now not only runs flawlessly, from screen to paper, but also runs much faster than before!
From the above experience, I believe in most cases, it is best to drive your report from a view that does the calculations and then use the DBCalc versus a Sum of Variable.
