Hi Razzak ...

>>This function is supposed to return the list letters of all
>drives connected to the current PC without any separators.

FYI, on November 27, 2002, with the release of R:BASE 2000
(ver 6.5++) for Windows Build:1.862xRT03, an enhancement
request, as documented in RBW65PP3.TXT (item #30), was
implemented.

30. Enhanced (CVAL('Drives')) functions will return the list of
currently available drives, including the mapped network or
removable drives, separated by a comma delimiter.

I see ....
The problem don't come from OS (W2K, W98 ...) as I suspected, but from
Rbase release ...

So, if I want my programs to works in both releases (before 1.862 and
after), I have to test if the value returned by CVAL('DRIVES') function
contains comas (with SLOC function), and then pull out the comas ...
I understand that the new function is more coherent with existing context
(#LIST ....), but it is not an enhancement for me (and for all people in my
case ...).

Thanks for your help anyway ...

Best regards,

J.M. GRATIAS, Logimatique
