Hi James, I installed Rbase on a machine that is extremely locked down. I.e. I don't have any admin access whatsoever, but it worked.
As a suggestion, check the permissions around the database folders, ensure that your perimeter security (firewall) is up to scratch, ensure that your security patches are up to date, lock your browser down, ensure your virus protection is up to date. Look at CERT's website, www.cert.org, they give excellent advise on these matters. Another good website is www.itgi.org, they have a great document on "baseline security". Drop me an email if you require help. We are holding a very extensive IT management, security, and audit research library over here. I was trying to set all of our Windows users to just PowerUsers or Users instead of every one having Admin privileges. But I found nether Rbase 6.5 or 7.1 would work correctly if the logged in user wasn't an 'admin'. Thoughts? Help? Suggestions?
