line character. I need to load this into a table one line at a time, but
do not remember how to make Rbase read the ~ as the end of record. If I
bring up the file in the RBEditor, it is all in one long string. (The file
can be mega bytes in size)
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried changing your LINEEND character setting to the ~ for loading
the data?
