David, It sounds like an indexing issue. What version and build of R:BASE are you using? If you are using R:BASE 6.5++ or higher, you may use the PACK INDEX or PACK INDEX FOR tablename command, even in a multi-user environment, to fix any issues related to indexes. Hope that helps!
