I was wondering what people have used for scanners? We're looking at going
to a paperless office where we would be scanning about 500 items at a time
including software ability to read text or numbers. I'm looking for
something that would be pretty quick. I appreciate any help.

If network scanner is an option, HP digital sender 9250c has served us
extremely well.
Essentially, what I do is create a record for each document set (usually
20 - 30 pages each, but sometimes run into a few hundred pages) in R:Base.
This record is used to print a scan cover sheet with autonum document serial
number. HP scanner uses this serial number as file name. Once this is
done, you can launch document from R:Base application. Very effective and
efficient system that much larger companies just dream about.
