I don't think anyone is suggesting picking over the data manually in the temporary table. The idea is that having gotten the data into R:Base you can then use a variety of automated processes to analyze and correct the data before adding it to the permanent tables. This gives you more control over what happens to exception records than simply relying on a batch process to reject them with no input from the database programmer. -- Larry
