Fred,

At this stage, unless you plan to:

a) Create very large tables that will drive the file #2 size over 2gb,
or

b) Connect to data sources with long table and column names or create
tables/columns with long names

then you should be fine with 7.6. The good news is that even if you go to
7.6 and find a future need for a) or b), you can move to v8 without
recoding.

I doubt that v8 has any appreciable performance advantage over 7.6 in a
small db.

Subject: [RBASE-L] - Wow! I coulda had a V-8.

Hi all,

I am converting a modest (15MB) database from 2.11 to Windows. Should I
make the leap to Turbo V-8 or settle for 7.6? I hardly approach the
capabilities of 7.6, but I'm greedy enough to want MORE! What's the
sensible solution?

Thanks,

Fred
