At this stage, unless you plan to: a) Create very large tables that will drive the file #2 size over 2gb, or b) Connect to data sources with long table and column names or create tables/columns with long names then you should be fine with 7.6. The good news is that even if you go to 7.6 and find a future need for a) or b), you can move to v8 without recoding. I doubt that v8 has any appreciable performance advantage over 7.6 in a small db.
