Fred,

We went with V8 mostly for the column name length. We had started to use
another sizeable database (many columns and tables) but as we got into
it the cryptic column names (with inconsistent abbreviations) and odd
placement of related data in the same table often made it hard to
actually find what you were looking for. The V8 name process makes it
easy to read particularly for trusted, non-admin users who did not write
the system but are given access to tables for behind the scene editing
and specialized reports. Many other benefits have popped up since we
started which is part of any learning process. 7.6 is very good, but for
a few extra bucks it is more than worth going V8. No regrets on our
part.

Subject: [RBASE-L] - Wow! I coulda had a V-8.

Hi all,

I am converting a modest (15MB) database from 2.11 to Windows. Should I
make the leap to Turbo V-8 or settle for 7.6? I hardly approach the
capabilities of 7.6, but I'm greedy enough to want MORE! What's the
sensible solution?

Thanks,

Fred
