Many thanks for this document, Razzak. I have only skimmed through it
quickly and it looks to contains much of interest.
One thing that did catch my eye - not as a problem with the document - was
on the last page where you suggest turning off rules when checking is not
needed. This is something that I do in a few situations but it causes me a
problem because only the owner can change the rules setting - which is not a
bad thing!
I codelock a command file that contains the owner password and then replace
to password in the RMD file with ******. This works perfectly well for me as
a single user but would be liable to security breaches if I forgot to
replace the password in any other situation.
Is there anyway that, for instance, rules could be set off by a special
command and then turned back on by R:Base following the next command? eg:
SET RULES OFFTEMP
LOAD ...
-- rules set back on here with no further programming command
EDIT * FROM ...
Clearly, there may be better ways of accomplishing the same thing but,
hopefully, that gives an idea of what I am getting at. Or, maybe a few
specific commands could have a "Rules On" option that is processed after
completion.
Just thinking out loud, again...
Regards,
Alastair.
