Bob,

If they are using Windows Terminal Server / Remote Desktop Connection, When
setting up the RDC, goto Options - Local Resources and check off on Local
Devices and Resources - Printers. This will bring a users local printer into
the Terminal Session.. In the terminal server session, open up printers and
faxes and you should see the local printers for the server and then the users
remote printers. You can set any of them as a default and use RBase to print
directly to it.

We have been doing this for years with Win2003 TS and RBase 7.1, 7.5 and now
7.6. You should not need any other program to work with printers. I even have
code that determines the which user is logged in and can hard code the printer
to use if they have more than one on their local machine or a special printer.
If you need any examples let me know.

Subject: [RBASE-L] - Remote Printing from Terminal Server

List,
I have an application that resides on a win2003 server. I am going to have a
compiled version for outside clients to run. The IT guy set this up as windows
remote computing. I am assuming this is terminal services, but they are
basically remotely running this directly from the server, not a workstation.
My problem is remote printing of reports. In PCAnywhere, there is a remote
print redirection, but nothing like this in MS software.
Sooooo, I asked this IT guy to make it work, and he showed me some software
from the web that might do the trick; 1. UniPrint 2. ThinPrint RDP engine 3.
Net2Printer RDP

Has anyone used these for this or have a better suggestion I can look into?
Thanks!
Bob C
