Tomorrow I will post something from the office (in Sweden we have 19:30 almost by now) if it has not been resolved before. Razzak sample provides for both SCONNECT and SATTACH to check whether the db is connected and table is attached. Situation: Some of my programs SCONNECT to DB2 and Oracle databases. In some instances the connection is unavailable if only for a short period of time. I would like to test for connection availability. If it's not available I could then PAUSE for 30 seconds or whatever and then loop back and try the connection again. If SQLCODE doesn't get set is there some other way to test for the connection? Thanks and have a phenomenal day!
