Dan, Oterro works very well with VB.NET. The big limitation of Oterro is that it is an ODBC driver. While oterro itself connects natively to the database, ODBC is considerably slower than a native connection to a database.
For this reason you will want to design your apps to pass as little total data through the ODBC pipe as possible. This means you must design your selects so they pull as few columns and/or rows and needed at any one time.
