I found the problem, I have this in the On Start Action
for the RBA

Set User ABCuser
Connect DB
Disc DB
Return

If I delete this from the Start up Action it works fine.
* the can't read RBA was due to not having the latest build
This was the second problem

Thanks All.

Marc

If I run the Compiled 7.5 Exe (the RBA file is compiled) works fine.
If I start Rbase full version 7.5, Applications and run the RBA file
it does not work.

The RBA file sets some settings then says Run Intro in Prog7.apx.
If I put Set Trace On at the start of the RBA Action it fails.

At the R> if I do
Trace Intro in prog7.apx it works fine.

I have not tried Run Intro in prog7.apx from the R> but I am sure
that would work OK.

I will make simple test RBA and cut and paste the same code to see
what happens, then try deleting parts of the code until I get it to work.

Thanks for the help, I am sure in time I will fix it
Marc

Just out of kiss (keeping it simple stupid) I would try it out on a simple test rba. I used a sample app and compiled it first. The second test was
on my own program. I think it be something that we are missing. I used
"App Designer" and had it use a simple form. Or another question, are you
saying you just cannot trace it but it works as a exe?

ie: Windows Server 2008 Install started Sat morning. At 10pm last night I
figured out that sometime on Saturday my T1 router lost its static ip and
froze up. I have a messed up Win-Server install. I tried a lot till I
stepped back and used a trace utility to find my problem with my router.
The people at Realinks reset it about 20 minutes later. I only found out
when I gave up and just wanted Internet service with or without the server.

So if you would try another compiled app and just see. It could be
something in the code. I / we can hear Razzak now, if it works on mine
then ............. so see. So far what you are seeing I have never
experienced. But if I can help, I will try.

Another off the wall story: Ever try to compile a "start.rmd" and then try "start.exe" from that location. As I recall compiler will compile "start".
It was years back and a project I was part of.

Sincerely,
Paul Dewey
