The presenters at the 10th Anniversary Conference "ALL" deserve accolades for the innovative ways they are using their beloved R:Base.
They showed us "Real World" utilizations of RBase 7.6 and 8.0 that not one person on the planet could've imagined possible in the days following the Re-birth in the hands of RBTI. We were witness to solutions that can't be provided to your customers in ANY other development environment, at anything other than multiples of the cost / time it takes to deliver the goods using R:Base. I came away feeling the genuine pride the presenters had in the display of the monsters they had created, the confidence they shared in being able to go forward into the future, knowing R:Base was perched on solid underpinnings they all had a hand in creating. I am compelled to express amazement at the ways R:Base is being used. It really shows that there are no limits any more. I know it is beginning to sound like a threadbare cliché, but "if you can dream it, you can achieve it" with the product you have in your hands today and we all heard from the good Dr., "The best is yet to come". I can't wait! ----- Original Message ----- From: "Frank Taylor" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "RBASE-L Mailing List" <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, October 21, 2008 2:58 PM Subject: [RBASE-L] - RE: 10th Anniversary Conference Tom, I will second that thank you.. I especially want to thank Steve, Bill, Frank, Karen, Doug, Paul, Mike and all the other attendees whose willingness to share their expertise with R:Base makes these conferences so valuable. The side conversations were just great. It is more than worth the effort to attend. I saw more potential solutions and different methodologies than I could remember. The meal Sunday was excellent. In addition, the ability to sample another city's culture is wonderful. Last year it was the Zombie Fest at 2:00am (admittedly, an aquired taste). This year it was a couple of spots in the Cultural District. "Samson and Delilah" with the Pittsburgh Opera and Symphony at the beautiful Bernedum (Sp?) with great production. And now for something completely different...the hilarious Gorman Low Revue at the Late Night Cabaret with the cheeziest Tom Jones/Carmen Miranda acts I have ever seen. If you are in Pittsburgh just go and enjoy. Thank you, Razzak!
