Gunnar,
I'm positive that you need a 3rd party app.  We used UltraVNC with great success in my old job (http://www.uvnc.com/).  It integrates with Windows domains, so we could use Windows accounts and groups to restrict access, and there is an encryption plugin so we did not have to worry about any data being transmitted in the clear.  It also allows you to blank the screen (the screen is shown by default), or just lock out the keyboard and mouse so you can share control, just show what you are doing, or hide everything completely.

Sorry to bother about a non R:Base issue.

I am a happy user of Remote desktop (XP operating system)

When I connect to the remote desktop, the remote desktop are closed down.

Many times that is OK, but sometimes I would like the remote user to see what I am doing for educational purpose.

Can I define somehow within MS environment or do I need a 3:third party software?

I know this is not R:Base but it is needed to support R:Base
