Thanks for the ideas and suggestions.
So when this happens is it a cause for concern? The procedure I was running today gathers data in to a file only, no updates or inserts, then runs a batch process in a dos window, then repeats the process 500 or so times. Reviewing the log files it appears that everything ran properly except the displayed error message. I'm pretty sure I have all the rights I need since I'm an administrator on the server (I double checked my rights too.) Thanks to Paul and Frank for your input. Duey Whenever I see this error it is because I do not have full control in the security settings under the folders properties tab. Check that and also make sure the user has full control under the sharing tab - permissions if you are using this over the network. Frank Taylor - Information Technology Administrator F.J. I would still check the workstation and see if it is just at the one terminal (so to speak). Of coarse check the normal stuff (twice). I found errors when I recheck myself twice over the last 5 years on that machine if that is the only one. 99% of the time I found it to be the workstation. Once I found my tech backing up drives on the server and he left 32kb on the server (big Ooops! ) that caused a error I/O Disk but not Buffering. Also check the number of process's going on out of curiousity. See if it look extreme or not. Sincerely, Paul Dewey Normal Stuff - aka dup exe, dll's, paths, etc.......
