I tried that one too! But the 79 bucks for Parallels is cheap for what you get!
I used VM too and I did not have the same experience as with Parallels! I used VM, Parallels and Window Virtual PC on windows OS and none of these match what they have done on the OSX iMac. Just my 2cent! Best Regards, Oma Cox O.C. Services Inc. P.O. (virtualbox.org) I'm still getting initiated but have run R:Base 7.6 and a movie editing package in a virtual XP machine running on OSX. The software runs fine although I need to deal with some I/O in the editing package. A new version of VirtualBox was released 4/8 might resolve that (I haven't downloaded it yet). Bottom line: so far so good with limited experience. iMac 20" monitor is reeeeeally nice. Doug David Blocker wrote: Hi all I have a client that would like to run R:Base (now 7.1, upgrading to 7.5 or 7.6) on MAC workstations using OS 10 and the program "Parallel Desktop". John at RBTI says they have no experience at their office, but says some of you have. If you have run R:Base 7.1, 7.5 and/or 7.6 in such an environment, I'd like to hear of your experiences and if there are any special steps you needed to take to make it work. Thanks!
