We wrote a simple form in R:Base 7.6 to display current active ports on
a workstation.
A Firewire port does not show up though it is an active port on the
machine.
Is this the correct behavior for cval('PORTS') in v7.6 to not
recognize/show a firewire port?
(is a firewire port not considered a port in the XP OS or by R:Base
PORTS variable?)
I ran "set p' in a command prompt and found no default environment
variable PORTS in XP or Vista - is this PORTS an R:Base specific
variable? If so what is the underlying implementation to load it from
the hardware on a workstation?
