I believe and I could be one of the worst readers, but here it goes. I think when the USER (the one that thinks QB,ACT,MS-Word etc.. are it) are using a application compiled or not. That when they open a form and then for simple terms hit a edit note field and they see "R:BASE BLOB Editor" they are lost of perhaps scared because who is this BLOB editor thing. They have no idea what BLOB is or even if they are doing something wrong. Even if it is used in SQL and Oracle and .......
I also believe if you were to use some type of (slen(.... text string) and then when the Editor window opens (By what the designer calls it - not always R:BASE BLOB Editor could be ABC's Note Taker Window Thing ) the cursor is located at the end. Thinking if they are editing the text it really is they are adding to the text note. The designer would decide on cursor location by eep or other means as they feel fit. So if I hit the nail - cool. I personally do not mind BLOB, but I have also had people ask what is BLOB. ;) Now not having time to work with this yet and using all the settings I will try. Funny thing I had a request this morning to change data entry of note etc... so nothing like timing. So back to work I go. Sincerely, Paul I thought I was the one with the strange, odd and it could only happen to me guy. I should take this as a challenge - I will try quad boot and boot my PC up in MAC mode and emulate a windows OS and then use 4 RBase sessions at the same time and ..... -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of A. Does everything work with the provided sample application? http://www.razzak.com/sampleapplications/ Application: Managing NOTE/VARCHAR Data Using BLOB Editor If the available sample application works but yours doesn't, guess what? That should give you some blues clues ... Marc, you need to take some time and first understand the controls, PROPERTY commands, proper logic and the technique demonstrated in the sample application. Once you have a good idea and understand the process, you can implement the same in your own application. Very Best R:egards, Razzak.
