It's grayed out because the read-only property of a folder either makes all files in the folder read-only, or not read-only. http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;326549 Sincerely, Paul Dewey From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Victor Timmons Sent: Wednesday, August 05, 2009 2:12 PM To: RBASE-L Mailing List Subject: [RBASE-L] - Re: WINDOWS ADMINISTRATIVE RIGHTS I just check and mine is like that also. However it is kind of a grayed out read-only. You would have to ask Uncle Bill Gates on that one. I am running XP but it’s also true on Vista. I guess its time to get a bigger hammer. Maybe if you hit the mouse with it will stay unchecked J P Please consider the environment before printing this e-mail From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of jan johansen Sent: Wednesday, August 05, 2009 10:49 AM To: RBASE-L Mailing List Subject: [RBASE-L] - Re: WINDOWS ADMINISTRATIVE RIGHTS This may be a good time to ask this question. I'm having R:BASE place it's temp files in the C:\Temp folder. When I look at the properties of that folder , the Read-Only attribute is always checked. If I de-select it and apply changes it always resets. This seems to be the case for all my computers on the network. I'm not sure what the issue is. Jan
