Hi John, I thought I did the same as you show, must have goofed up somewhere else to cause it fail. But I decided to insert a blank row with customer no. autonumbered, get the no. and then use edit mode. That worked, so for now I will stick with it. Thanks for your reply.

I use this technique in all of my applications. User types in the zip code. On Exit EEP I perform a GetProperty to save the zip code into a variable. The next field on the form is the city.
