My client has to print UPC-A labels. I cannot shrink the width of the
barcode since RBase requires that UPC-A barcodes must have the AutoSizeFont
checked. I have human readable checked so that the upc code prints just
below the barcode.
Since these labels are slapped onto the end of boxes, the warehouse people
need to see the part# on the label. So, the label looks something like this;

The part# has to be as large as possible. In RBase the largest font I can
use for the part# and have it fit 9 characters is 36.
When I use the Zebra Designer, I can get a 56 point font and the part# and
barcode fit quite nicely on a 1" by 4" label.
If I change the part# font to 48 it prints over part of the barcode. If I
shrink the width of the barcode, only part of the barcode prints. It's
getting to be a little like the chicken and the egg.
I have experimented with human readable on/off, wide bar ratio nothing is
working for me.
Hope this gives you a clearer image of what I need to do, if it's possible
in RBase.

I use that printer to print Code 128 with no problem. When you say "I
need to print a human readable barcode along with a 9 character part# side
by side on a 4" wide by 1" high label." is the barcode not the same as the
part# and when you say it does not print properly - explain.

I have a Zebra TLP2844 label printer to print UPC-A barcodes.
I need to print a human readable barcode along with a 9 character part# side
by side on a 4" wide by 1" high label.
The font size needs to be 48. No matter how I change the settings for the
bar code or the part#, I cannot get the label to print properly.
Whats really annoying is that using the Zebra Designer software, I have NO
PROBLEM printing what I need. My customer is getting anxious about this.
Can anyone suggest a solution or work-around ?
